About us
Boston electrical work, done the careful way
We fix, upgrade and rewire the electrical systems in Boston houses and buildings. This page explains how a job runs with us, where we work and who writes our guides.

What we do
The work behind the walls of Greater Boston
Most of what we do happens in houses that were wired long before anyone planned for heat pumps, induction ranges or a car charging in the driveway. Triple-deckers with a meter per flat, brick rowhouses with plaster walls, post-war capes with 100 amp panels: each one has its own way of hiding old splices and overloaded circuits.
So the work is a mix. Emergency calls for dead circuits and scorched outlets. Panel and service upgrades. Knob and tube removal so insulation can finally go in. New circuits for kitchens, basements and additions. Lighting, generators, EV chargers and the wiring in condos, shops and restaurants. The full list lives on the electrical services page.
WireUp Electrical Services answers the phone around the clock because electrical problems do not keep office hours, and a hot outlet at midnight is not something to sit on until morning.

How a job runs
From the first call to a labeled panel
The call
A person answers, day or night, and asks what you are seeing. If it sounds dangerous, we tell you which breaker to switch off before anything else.
The visit
The electrician tests before replacing anything. In older houses the fault is often a connection behind the plaster, not the device in front of you.
The price
You hear what failed, how we would fix it and what it costs before the repair starts. If there is a cheaper safe option, you hear that too.
The work
Permits are filed on work that needs them, wiring is fished through existing paths where possible, and openings are kept small.
The finish
Circuits are retested, the panel directory is labeled in plain words, and the work area is cleaned before we leave.
Where we work
One office, a lot of Greater Boston
Our office is in Danvers, MA. From there, electricians cover the Boston neighborhoods, the cities around them from Quincy and Brookline to Cambridge, Newton and Woburn, and the North Shore from Lynn up to Danvers. The Greater Boston page lists every community and the work we see most in each.
Permits and inspections run through each city or town, and utilities differ too: most of the area is served by Eversource, while Danvers has its own municipal electric division. Knowing who to call on the utility side is part of getting a service upgrade done without delays.

Our guides
Who writes Electrical Help
The guides on this site are written by Lucille Jessup, our home wiring editor. They start from the questions customers ask most on the phone: whether a heat pump means a new panel, what to do about knob and tube, why a breaker keeps tripping. Read the guides.
